My family, along with extended family, stayed at the Villa for 6 nights. It was great having the airport transfers included in the price. The two drivers were very friendly. We hired one of the vans for a couple of trips and the driver, Lutfi, was so friendly and helpful. The place was great, and walking distance to shops, restaurants and beach. The two lovely ladies, Ketut and Liz, took very good care of us, providing breakfast and cleaning the place daily. Gabe, the manager, was most helpful, providing us with information on anything that she thought we might need. We rang her several times for help. The pool was great and the kids enjoyed it very much. I would definitely recommend it.

After two weeks of experiencing Villa Bretani, I decided I could spend the rest of my life there! It was relaxing, convenient, and very welcoming. The first thing I noticed was the willingness of the staff to help out with anything and everything thinkable, Alice, the manager, went above and behind to make our trip an enjoyable experience. Ketut, the cleaner, was lovely. Despite not speaking much english, she made an effort to make us all feel comfortable and content during our short stay, cooking us breakfast every morning, as well as the cleaning. Wayan, the gardener, was lovely too, like all of the people you are likely to encounter in the relatively quiet area of Sanur. The location is a great getaway from the overwhelming tourist central, Kuta. It was quiet and peaceful, and provided a real balinese experience, as well as great bars, restaurants, beaches and shopping! The Villa itself is close to the centre of the town and not a far cab ride from Kuta. It is clean, spacious and beautifully decorated. I would highly recommend this Villa for all travelling individuals and groups, and I cant wait to plan my next trip!

Staying in Villa Bretani made Bali such an enjoyable time because the villa was so close to the main street of Sanur and had such loveable people working in and around it. The pool was really neat and a great way to cool off in the heat of Bali. If you want to visit Bali, Villa Bretani is a really cute place perfect to relax in with friends and have a great breakfast every morning!

"Villa I traveled to bali in a group of 7, for post high school celebrations, we stayed in Sanur for 2 and a half weeks. Villa Bretani was the perfect place to come home to after a busy day exploring the wonders of Bali, and was also a great place to relax and hang by the pool on days we had nothing planned. Sanur is a great location because it isn’t plagued by tourists like Kuta, so it was always relaxing to go to the beach and watch the Balinese interact with each other and complete their daily rituals (praying and offerings etc). We were a little worried about the cost of getting to Kuta for the clubs but it turns out that was no problem at all as it was only 2$ per person in the taxi! Ketut, the cook, and Wayan, the gardener were lovely people too, Ketut was always so sweet even though she doesn’t speak much English and made us mango smoothies every morning (which probably wasn’t an easy task!). Alice the manager was extremely helpful with organizing trips and drivers, and got back to us extremely quickly with any questions or worries we had! We had an amazing time and plan on going back next year! Hopefully the Villa and staff are as helpful and amazing as they were this time. ”

"Villa Bretani is definitely a worthwhile place to say. It is right near the main st and a 5 minute walk to the beach. It is a very laid back and relaxing place to stay and everything is clean. The breakfasts that are cooked are equally as good and I highly reccommend it! "

"This lovely villa was well equipped & beautifully decorated to provide us with a home away from home. We were extremely comfortable & at home during our visit, hence the reason for extending our stay, we really didnt want to leave. The staff are amazing & so hospitable. They all went above & beyond to ensure we had a fantastic holiday. Wayan was such a gem, making himself available to our every need, nothing was ever too much trouble for him & full of great local information. We all enjoyed our conversations with him & his beautiful family not to mention Teenies fantastic massages! Ketut & Co made us great breakfasts & maintained the villa well. This was our second trip to Bali this year (Yes we do love it!), so have stayed in several other villas previously & the warmth of the Balinese people is always evident. But our experience at your villa has exceded all our other stays thanks to the manager Alice. Her dedication to providing 5 star service was consistant & personally arranged everything we needed. It was such a comfort being in a foriegn country & having Alice with her knowledge of local attractions & culture guide & assist us through our holiday. She truly is a gem & such an asset to Villa Bretani! Thanks again Annie for all your help, & yes, we will certainly be returning on our next trip to Bali! "

"Stayed here 6 days after a week in Legian. It was so serene after the bustle of Kuta. Alice, the Manager was there to greet us, as was Ketut our house maid and cook and Wayan, chief of maintenance. Our first trip to Sanur after many holidays on the other side of Bali and what a pleasant surprise. The villa is tucked away in a little lane about 10 minutes walk to the main drag, where there are dozens of restaurants. The villa is immaculate and the pool was such a treat. You can have all the privacy you want ot\r Alice and company will organise day trips and adventures for you. Pick up and deliver is a bonus and a delicious cooked breakfast everyday, courtesy of Ketut with Mango smoothies as a starter YUMMM. Highly recommended already thinking about our next trip "

"Travelled to Villa Bretani with a friend in October. The ensuite bathrooms attached to each bedroom are very well thought out. Each have a full bath, separate hot water shower and a toilet. The wardrobes have plenty of shelving and hanging space so no living out of the suitcase. The huge bed has beautiful linen and is really comfortable. The villa is kept immaculately clean by the housekeeper Ketut. Ketut is AMAZING!! The breakfasts were beautifully made and presented. Her fruit shakes are great - had one every day !!! .We went on a tour one day and were leaving early so Ketut made breakfast for us the night before and left it in the fridge !!! Very thoughtful.Ketut also cooked for us one night The villa itself is extremely comfortable and well thought out. The pool is pristine as is the whole villa. Spent many hours lazing by the pool. Very easy 5 minute walk to Sanur. The villa has a very peaceful ambience . It is like stepping into another world when you enter the villa gates. We felt very safe staying at the villa. We cannot recommend this Villa highly enough!!! Negatives - NONE !!!! Have stayed in many villas - this is by far the best ! Planning our return trips now !!! Can't wait to return. Thanks Annie for an amazing holiday. "

"My 2 daughters 18, 15 and niece 20 stayed at Villa Bretani for our 3rd trip to Bali. Previously we have stayed in hotels in the Legian area. It was a lovely change staying at the villa. The villa was beautifully laid out with all the comforts of home. The 3 bedrooms were large with bathrooms off each room. The air-conditioning was ice cold. The pool was crystal clear and very inviting. The staff of the villa consisted of; Manager Alice who assisted us with our activities, Ketut – housekeeper who cooked our beautiful breakfasts each morning and made up our rooms and Wayan gardener/ maintenance. My family fell in love with Ketut and Wayan who catered to all of our needs. The villa was a beautiful private sanctuary to escape after a busy day in Bali. The Sanur area is a great area with lots of great restaurants, a couple of our favourites were Cat and the Fiddle and Massimo’s both with live music. Sanur is also not far from some of the busier parts of Bali such as Kuta (only about $7 by taxi). We can’t wait for our next trip. "

"The website does not do this Villa justice, it is absolutely beautiful, very modern with everything you need in a fantastic location. We travelled with 3 kids 4-11 years old and a another couple and a baby....plenty of room to accomadate everyone and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We all look forward to staying at Bretani again and could not fault the place. The only thing I recommend to do is take a torch as the laneways to the beach are not very well lit up when the sun goes down."

"I really enjoyed my stay at this Villa. The staff were great and the manager really helpful. Being picked up from the airport is such a great end to a flight! The rooms were so beautifully detailed it was like sleeping in a french Villa in the middle of Bali. Everything is on hand and Sanur is definately the place to be. You can take transport to Kuta or Semanyak but to come home to a "nicer atmosphere" was a great plus. I can't speak highly enough of the great economy of this Villa. I would be hurrying back before the owner finds out they are not charging enough. A real find!!!!!"

"Villa Bretani is a gorgeous place to stay and such a great find. We stayed with our kids and extended family for a family holiday. We found the villa met all our needs and it was excellent to have a bathroom off each room. The villa itself has been so tastefully decorated and well laid out. Annie (in Australia) & Grace (in Bali) are lovely, helpful & accommodating. I can't speak highly enough of them both. It was a great option for us to be all able to stay together (rather than stuck in a hotel with separate rooms and no living spaces) and to have a kitchen to use (very handy with kids). The garage is great too as we hired bikes and could easily slip up to the shops or out for food. I also thought it was very reasonably priced."

"We travelled with 2 teenage boys and all had a very relaxing and enjoyable time. Ketut and Gede were great hosts and nothing was too difficult. Ketut cooked some amazing meals for us when we were keen to eat in. Gede managed to find the best spots for touring and adventure. The banana pancakes at breakfast were delicious. It was our first time to Bali and we will definitely be returning."

"Villa Bretani is incredible. The pool is perfectly clean and so inviting after wandering the streets and markets of Sanur. The interior of the villa is absolutely delightful with attention having been given to every room - beautiful cushions, bright wall paper, gorgeous linen, comfy beds. Overall, an amazing living space for a stay in Sanur. Ketut and Gede are most helpful as the managers. The location is ideal - only about 10-15 minutes pleasant stroll to the beach and even closer to restaurants and shopping. Perfect for a romantic getaway or a whole family to fill the 3 perfect rooms with 3 perfect bathrooms!! There is of street parking, great gardens and security is optimum. Can't wait o go again!!"

"Our stay at villa bretani was over the christmas/new years break. We had an absolutely wonderful stay. From the moment we were picked up from the airport to when we were dropped off to our second destination. Gede and his family were the most lovely, friendly warm and accommodating people. We were picked up from the airport by Gede and by the time we had made it back to the villa he had organised for a for carton of Bintang to greet us on arrival. He took us where ever we pleased and when ever we pleased, always with a smile on his face. He took us to see some cultural shows and to the local night markets, which we thoroughly enjoyed. It was great being able to walk to the night markets, where we enjoyed several fantastic meals for around the $1 - $2 mark. We even started to pick up some of the local language. It was these little touches which made our stay all the more special. The villa was immaculate the whole time we were there. We spent our New Years Eve at the villa and had a big party/BBQ with Gede's family and friends from the local community. We topped off the night by putting on a huge fireworks display which drew out the locals in droves. Overall we had a fantastic experience with the people from villa bretani. If you like a very modern, high-class, club-style place to have a few drinks, you must check out Ku De Ta at Seminyak. Also for a romantic dinner , make sure you get along to a restaurant at Jimbaran Bay, where the tables are actually on the beach, so you sit there and eat your dinner in the candle light with your feet in the sand."

"We would have to agree with what the other reviewers have said. Not surprised that everything so far has been positive. The attention to detail is amazing. Communication from Annie prior to us leaving for Bali left us feeling reassured that all would go smoothly. Transfers were included even though we were coming from Ubud and Gede also helped us greatly on our final day although our departing flight wasn't until midnight. We departed the Villa at 5pm and were driven to JImbaran Bay for a final seafood dinner on the beach. Gede waited for us and then drove us on to the airport. In between there was plenty to keep us occupied around Sanur and comfortable in the Villa.
We had read the reviews of the restaurant Kayu Manis (up the end of the road and turn left) and tried that. Delicious modern food with an Indonesian influence. I would have been happy with my stuffed squid if I had paid top prices for it in an Australian restaurant. Just across the road from this was the 4X4 cafe'. This became our 'regular'. Delicious Indonesian fare with some house specialties at a real budget price. Some of the most delicious yet cheapest food we ate while in Bali. We fed our family of 5 including drinks for about $AU15. The included breakfast in the Villa was enjoyed and looked forward to by the kids. We also had Ketut cook dinner for us one night: 300,000 Rupiah which was reasonable considering we had leftovers. It is also worth trying some of the foods at the night market - you may not know what they are but be adventurous! Our kids loved the fried chicken: about 5,000 Rp per piece. Look for the man who cooks the Indonesian version of Dutch pancakes down the lane a bit. You have to check out the markets both early in the morning about 6am (including the undercover section) and at night. Gede organised bicycles for us. This is a great way of getting about Sanur. If you need to go to the shops to grab a few things it is easy to ride rather than get a taxi. Hardy's is only a few minutes ride - make sure you go upstairs, a good place to stock up on souvenirs and the prices are comparable to the local stalls, depending on how good you are at bartering. A special thanks and mention should be made about Gede: a friend of his passed away early in the morning of the day we had arranged for him to take us for a drive. He still showed up at the Villa to let us know what was happening and had organised for his brother to take us for the drive instead - which turned out to be a very enjoyable day. This was the first time we have taken our children overseas so wanted this to be a special experience for them. We couldn't have chosen better than Villa Bretani "

"Were greeted at the airport by Gede (said G-day) and that was so comforting when you land in an unfamiliar place. Then home to the villa and were greeted by his wife, she is the cook and cleaner (women can do more than one thing ! ) Called Katut. She is lovely but cant speak a great deal of english (yet). Then in the mornings you get breakfast and it was fasinating to watch her prepare their food for the day too in the kitchen. Gede would sit with us and talk for ages in the mornings, a real friendly family. Loved the area, real suburbs and nice and quiet neighbours even though you did hear lots of motorbikes zoom by, but that is Bali ! There are thousands of motorbikes. We walked to the main street nearly every day and that is only a 5 min walk, i was very wary of the dogs though. Found the neighbours dogs really scarry and at one time they surrounded me. So that made it hard to walk down the tiny street. Shops are perfect, area is great, service was good, pool was nice, the photoes really dont do the villa justice. It is more beautiful in person. Annie and Grace are just so gracious and lovely. Would love to stay there again, hopefully the dogs are gone by then. Found the information booklet that is on the table really helpful and the massages, well what can i say, they were the best. Went with Gede's brother on a day tour and that was really good. Would do that again too. Taxi to the main area of Kuta was around 60,000 and took about 20min and to near the airport it was only 85,000. So very cheap. hope to be back ...."

"Thankyou to the wonderful staff at villa bretani for their excellent service.Grace was a wonderful host and along with the other staff we couldnt have asked for more to make the wedding reception perfect. They went out of their way to accomodate us and decorate the villa in a perfect way,Annie couldnt have been more helpful via email in communicating with us regarding the requirements for the wedding day, even organising wedding cars for us to get to the ceremony venue and back to the villa. The villa itself is gorgeous, well set out and such a pleasant atomosphere. We have already recommended the villa to others. Thanks again Annie,Grace and staff."

"The decor, interior design and furnishings of the villa are visually stunning. Made us feel like we were in a luxe boutique hotel. The villa is compact but spacious. Through clever design and landscaping the villa has a light and airy feel but without losing any intimacy. It has plenty of room for our family of 6 (3 adult + 3 child). The villa has 3 air cond roomy bedrooms each with its own ensuite and the 3rd brm is not attached to the main house. The villa has bi-fold doors to fully enclose and can be locked, we used it primarily as a barrier from the pool for our kids in the early morning or when we napped in the afternoon and from the mosquitoes. The villa is located in what we felt like was the "suburbs" of Sanur, away from the main streets, tourist and shopping area. Your neighbours are the local Balinese who are so quiet! Its a 5-10 min walk to "main street" of Sanur, 15 min walk to the beach, very cheap fare to Hardy's the nearest supermarket/department store (it was too far to walk with 4 kids). I dealt with Annie by email prior to our stay. She is gracious, patient and full information. Lovely to do business with. We were met by Gede (driver and "go to man" of Villa Bretani) at the airport and his wife Ketut greeted us at the villa with welcome drinks. Through out our 8 day stay both Gede and Ketut greeted us each morning with a yummy cooked breakfast and they were both very happy to help us find anything we were looking for from coconuts to vacant land! We also met Grace, Annie's daughter, who offered to babysit and show us around. I wish we did use her services but we never got around to being organised enough. Two whinges we had was the lounge area in front of TV was a little too cosy for 6 people... but then again its a holiday... youre not meant to be holed up in front of the telly all day! 2nd whinge would be that the pool was heavily chlorinated, bleached and stretched all our bathers... it was a great excuse to get new bathers though!!! Overall the villa achieved its desired effect of being a relaxing and ultimately comfortable holiday destination with the added bonus of plushness!"

"Service- Amazing! the staff are incredible.. they treated us like their own family... what ever you need .. it will be there.. they really go that extra mile for you. the location of the villa is great, its away from the main part of bali so you can still enjoy a little bit of peace and quite or if you are up for some drinks its only a 10 minute walk away, The night markets are only around the corner too which was handy, (dare to try the food at the markets) the villa is awesome it was perfect for the 6 of us.. its like having the luxuries without paying too much for it... i would recommend this villa to everyone and I sure will come back!"

"I took my Dad and my wife to Bali 3 weeks ago, stay at Villa Bretani. We had a wonderful time there. Annie is great, she is always very helpful in many ways. It is Bali rainny season, rain can start without warning. We were taking a walk at the board walk on Sanur beach and all of a sudden it started down pouring. Luciky Annie came to our rescure. She brought us umbrella and had her driver drove us back to her villas. We cannot thank her and praise her enough. She did so much more extras for us. Villas Bretani is gorgeous as it is brand new. The home made breakfast was great too. The location is great as it is only 10 minutes walk to Sanur beach. The villas is on the side street off main road so it is quite."
